In regards to the pickaxe, it seems I can harvest every block but basalt and marble of the blocks I had on hand in my test pack, but only as long as I have a battery installed and enough power to pick the blocks I wish to pick (this varies depending on the hardness, but is a very miniscule draw anyway).
